Sounds good dude

Damn. I love this. Don't worry about zero bombers, it happens to everybody (me included lol). And btw, voting down doesn't boost anybody up. Also, who does the female voice? I've been looking for a female voice for some of my metal stuff. Are you using a YAMAHA keyboard for the strings? I think I might have the same one... Sounds good, you have a HAGGARD style in this. But during the solo, when it's just bass and drums on rhythm it needs something. Great song man, I downloaded and gave you 5/5, keep this up.

Damn that review was all over the place...

kensmalts responds:

Yeah it's played on a Yamaha I got at Best Buy... I'd like to upgrade but it seems like it's pointless to even look at a decent keyboard if you don't have at least $1000 in your hand.

We are thinking of adding a second guitar if we can find a good bass player... Derome and I are both guitar players so we are just making do for now. I'm sure the rhythm guitar will help fill out a few parts but with just the 4 elements we are working with now we just try to explore some different dynamics... and with the new drummer things are bound to get rewritten a bit. The cd version of this song might end up being a little different in sound but should be the same in overall structure and all that.

Oh ya and voting down does boost you up because the more you vote the more powerful your votes are and the more other things are voted down the higher other things would be in relation to them.

I shall do it dude...

I don't need the MP3 without vox, I'll just go over yours, and send you an MP3 of my vox alone... I like this track dude, any word on what styles of vox you want? Cause I kind of want to do high (where you have no idea what to do, I want to do war anger revenge and hate in really high singing), screaming, gutturals, all that stuff. PM me if you have any requests on what I should do. Great track man. The tone fits the style of riff perfectly

Eteocles responds:

Well, you'd be the vocalist so what style you pick is totally up to you! I like the high vocals, I like gutturals, it's all you bro! :) Send me a track of your vocals and I'll mix'm into the mix and re-submit this! :D

Probably no like... pig squeals or anything though lol it's not too terribly heavy

Excellent

You guys listen to King Diamond don't you? If you get a good quality recording of this I'll do some high vocals and guitar solos for it if you like. The quality wasn't half as bad as some of the things you can hear on NG. I like it, keep of up. Maybe the guitars should be turned up, I can hear the bass louder than the guitars. Excellent writing and playing, this song is pretty sweet, its going on my ipod

Great Job!

Lost-Thought responds:

Thank you for reviewing and rating, we have solos for this song but we just haven't recorded them yet

I'll have a go at it...

I've recently noticed that I have nothing to show for myself here on NG, so I'll give a whack at this, and see if everybody likes it. Great backing track, that's loads of inspiration for me right there. Great job man, i have work to do!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

fuckin eh, brother. Kick it some new teeth.

Wow...

Excellent piece, but every now and again I hear some influence from Drowning Into The Heavens, was this intentional? Because it brought me back a while, furthering the feeling of peace I get when listening to your work. Great job.

MarkySpark responds:

Not intentional my friend, It's just some chords or notes I like better than others.

excellent

The snare needs work, the guitar tone is a little bad, but its forgivable, the piano sounds great, but maybe a little more reverb. As if you were alone in a cold dark hallway, and all of your fears are being compressed into the ominous sound of the striking of piano keys. The main guitar riff could use some rhythm over it, it sounds weird by itself. Anyways, still a 10/10, I'd love to hear more from you man

pitchblak responds:

Thanx for the review man,Yeah, Ive never been pleased with my tone,I have some crappy equipment, hope to upgrade one day.The snare...I just used a kit from Easy Drummer,I dont really try and tweak them. Thanks for the advice and vote!!

Hell Yeah man

The chorus is very punk, and I can dig that alot (I'm in a punk/thrash band lol). Great work on this track, i love your voice man. But I really don't see any areas you need to improve in. Well, maybe the drums a bit (just turn em up and it will sound good), and when the guitars are harmonized, the tone is fishy. Also, I've never heard that kind of breakdown in a punk/thrash song, well done with the innovation man!

BERSERKYD responds:

Thanks a lot !! Its nice to heard the opinion of a punker, cuz I use to listen a LOT of punk, pennywise, bad religion, strung Out... ya know. And I Try couple monthe ago this punk/trash stuff, and I got a lot more to come, cuz its defenitly what I would like to play in band. Rock On Bud !

Not bad

But you definitely have to pick your category better. This is not metal at all. But still 7/10 because of the musicianship. I'm not going to be a dick because you put it in the wrong category, but i will let you know. Be more careful with that, because people who don't play can be ignorant to the slightest of mistakes. Great job none the less.

seel responds:

Really? It didn't cross my mind that this would be the wrong category... I guess you're right though now that I think of it, but I'm unsure where this would go otherwise. I mean the amount of genres offered by the audio portal is sparse to say the least. Thanks for the kind words though.

yes!

This is the most old school metal I've heard on NG yet. This brings me back to the time just before thrash, with bits of hair metal in there, sounds great.

BERSERKYD responds:

HEy thanks man !! Yeah I'm doing a bunch of song like that so b ready to Rock hard ;)

I absolutely love it

And I agree that this wouldn't go well in the classical section. Speaking of which, why does nobody check it? That is where some of the best music is. Anyways, I like it, when the snare roll came in, my heart stopped. The marimba was out of place, but the when it kicked back in with the drums, what an excellent transition. The brass instruments should have been a bit more aggressive, but all in all, amazing piece. The lone cellos at 3:32 made my day. Keep making music like this, and you will be one of the most respected artists on NG. Downloaded...

Throughdarkness responds:

Thank you! Ive been heavily focusing on metal lately and I think Im gonna go back to some more relaxing/chill pieces like this.
